Found Object Art | Mixed Media Assemblages
Thank you for your interest in my found object assemblage art. You can purchase my original found object and mixed media assemblage pieces only through this website or direct from my studio in DeMotte, Indiana by appointment.
My original found object assemblages are created by the use of found objects such as discarded trash, reclaimed wood and metal, and often natural resources such as; tree bark, driftwood, beach glass, stones, etc. I use these items to create modern works of art often in the shapes of recognizable symbols, hearts, crosses, peace signs, etc but also in abstract form as well. For me the abstract assemblages allow me to take my love of paper collage and expand it into materials such as reclaimed wood, old metal, tools, etc that give the work a 3 dimensional aspect.
Found object art was named from a translation of the French term objet trouvé, which means found art. This style of artwork (found object art) uses items that when you view on it's own separately, have non-art functions. For example; an old rusted screwdriver, a broken chair leg, keys from a no longer functioning antique typewriter, etc. I enjoy working in found object assemblages as it combines my love to use my creativity and imagination to create something beautiful from nothing/junk, while also doing something that in it's own small way allows me to do my part to recycle and reuse old, discarded items that would otherwise be in a trash heap somewhere littering our earth. I hope you enjoy my found object art assemblages.
